This is one of our most popular trainings! Students love the powerful, rejuvinating, & healing effects of Restorative Yoga.
Join our Yoga Therapy students for a healing, restorative teacher training experience.
Restorative yoga is a gentle inward form of yoga that invites participants to move towards greater balance, control and participation in their life. The participant's body is placed in yoga postures that are supported with props. The mind is invited to slow down with the use of pranayama, visualization and mantra allowing the individual to turn inside. A restorative practice is a complement to any yoga practice or other form of exercise and perfect for almost any practitioner looking to experience a deeper state of relaxation and healing than Savasana or sleep. It is also a perfect practice for those recovering from injury or illness or anyone who experiences stress on a daily basis.
This 30-hour training is for teachers, teacher trainees and students interested in delving deeper into restorative yoga. Participants will learn how to teach restorative yoga classes and how to incorporate restorative yoga into asana group classes and privates. Students will learn how to develop a restorative home practice and how to apply it therapeutically for stress related illnesses such as anxiety, asthma, high blood pressure, etc.
The training will cover:
the science behind restorative yoga
benefits and contraindications of key restorative poses
how to work with a variety of props to set up key restorative poses for classes, privates, and home practice
how to design a restorative practice
This training will focus on developing practical skills. Trainees will work with fellow students to develop an “eye” to see physical misalignments and know how to adjust them. Trainees will learn hands on adjustments and practice teach restorative poses.
Because of the extensive use of props, class size is limited. Please register for this training as soon as possible to reserve your space.

REQUIRED PROPS** Every year a few trainees come to training with little or no props only to find, as we move into the poses and sequences, that they "really do" need the props on the REQUIRED PROPS list above. Please come to training prepared; it makes the experience much more healing and enjoyable when you have everything you need to FULLY relax.
We have yoga props for sale at the studio and we have a limited number of props you may borrow during training which we give out on a first come first serve basis.
